William was reported as missing in action CDN 30/01/45. Mrs. Charuk received good news in April of 1945 that here son, previously reported as MIA is actually a POW in Germany.

 There was a letter that stated that William had been wounded when he was captured but was “getting along fine” and receiving the best of care CDN 7/04/45.
