Private Noel Charron enlisted with the 33rd. Battalion, but being anxious to see active service, deserted, and enlisted with a Montreal unit, being in France five months before the 33rd went overseas. He received wounds in April 1916, went back to the trenches in July, and was again wounded April 9th, 1917 at Vimy Ridge, in the right hand. He was returned to Canada and received his honorable discharged.
Private Noel Charron was given his discharge December 1st, 1917 for being unfit for further military service. Two months later he enlisted in the American Army.
