Eugene enlisted in London, Ontario on October 6, 1940.  He arrived overseas on the S.S. Louis Pasteur according to the CDN 01/09/1945. He arrived in Chatham abroad the C.P.R. and was welcomed by city aldermen Goodman, Day and Copeland. Pte Charron was reported to be discharged from the army CDN 11/09/1945.
