Charlebois,J. Maurice

 

 

Born in 1923, the son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Leon Charlebois of 170 Lacroix St., Chatham, ON. Jean-Maurice married Rosabel (nee Pinsonneault), they had one son, Michel, and four daughters, Elaine (McDonald), Anne-Marie (Mills), Claudette (Krieger) and Annette (Baker).  

Jean-Maurice enlisted in December of 1942 with the 7th Canadian Reece Regtiment and served in Canada for eighteen months after his enlistment.  Jean had been in charge of a Knights of Columbus Army before he joined the active forces CDN 21/05/44. He left for overseas duty on 8/04/1944 with the 17th Duke of York Regt., serving in England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He returned to Canada 16 January, 1945 and was discharged 2/03/1946.
