Son of Thomas Challinor (father) of 46 Landsdowne Ave., Chatham, ON.  A single high school teacher, living at his father’s home. MSA 708406 AC. Place of Birth: – Chatham, ON. No Military experience – at London, ON. 10/07/18 – C1. – 10/07/18 before none.   Attestation: 1/07/1918 at London, ON to 1st WOR.

Apparent Age: 25 yrs. 6 mths., Height: 5’ 9 ½”, Girth: 34” Complexion:  Medium, Eyes: Brown, Hair: Dark Brown. Vision; 30/20 both eyes, Hearing – Normal. 1st Batt. at London, ON. 10/07/18 – Medical exam: 10/07/1918 at London, ON. – Left Hernia. 20/07/18  (Epilepsy Hernia), 28/08/18 LMP from 30/08/18 at

 London, ON. 29/09/18 – a SOS 29/09/18 – at London, ON.

He recruited and trained soldiers in Kent County during World War I and was an officer in the local regiment. He did not serve overseas. He was a teacher at Chatham Collegiate Institute and also taught and studied at Queen’s University.  He died at age 40 of diptheria in 1932.  Info submitted by his grandson, John Challinor II.
