N of K: Mrs. Robert S. Causley of 45 Main St., Wallaceburg, ON.
The Wallaceburg News 31/07/41 reported that Lieut. Jim Causley of the RCA was being transferred to Camp Petewawa. He was on leave at home visiting his family including his grandmother Mrs. Smith of Orillia who was also visiting Wallaceburg.
The WN 24/11/42 reported on the marriage of Lieut. James Robert Causley to Desiree st. Hayward of Brighton.
James went overseas as a Lieutenant in the Royal Canadian Artillery, subsequently promoted to the rank of Captain. The WN 23/03/44 reported that Lieut was on ‘active duty’.Captain Causley served primarily with the 3rd Anti-Tank Regiment – RCA serving in Belgium, France and Holland.
Reported arriving from overseas duty aboard the “Duchess of Richmond, expected at Quebec City 19 August, 1945 CDN 17/08/45. He was reported home on “two weeks leave” CDN 21 August, 1945 and was due to report back to the RCA “to take a special course“.
