Born in 1915. The son of Edward James and Laura Jane (nee Tye). The brother of Valda (Wood) Harland and Bert. Lyle was a bachelor, but had a daughter named Pat Alexander.

It was reported that Pte. Caughy arrived home in Cedar Springs “unexpectedly from Halifax” on a five day furlough at Erie Beach. 

He served overseas.

Lyle passed away 29 December, 2000 at the age of 85 years.  Interment at Pardoville Cemetery, Kent Co., ON.
