From Trinity, Kent Co., ON. The WJ 4/07/40 was training with the Royal Canadian Regt. along with Vern Smith at Camp Borden. Lloyd was on a weekend leave with relatives. The WJ 8/08/40 reported Pte. Cates spent a weekend at his home in Trinity. The WJ 12/12/ 40 reported that Lloyd was at home on a two week furlough. The WJ 13/06/40 reported that Lloyd was on duty with the RCR at Camp Borden.
The WJ 9/10/19 reported Cpl. Cates stationed at Hamilton was reported on a leave.
