Charles’ Father was Clarence Ellwood Case, and Charles’ younger brother was Lee Clarence Case.
Brother Russell enlisted in the RCAF 25/07/1941. In August 1942 Sgt.-Pilot Case was at RCAF Trenton where he was serving as an instructor CDN 22/08/42. He served four years as a test pilot and instructor. He was promoted to Flying Officer. He served for 18 months overseas. He was discharged from the service 5/09/1945.
William was a student at the Chatham Collegiate Institute where he secured his upper school standing.
William “won his wings” at RCAF Brantford S.F.T.S 2 July 1942 with the rank of Sgt. -Pilot. CDN 9/07/42(P)
Bill was 19 years old.
Casey Moorhead, granddaughter through his youngest daughter, Bonnie Case, and in possession of his Service and Pay Book, his RAF Identity Card (R.A.F. Form 1250 (R)), as well as RCAF documents certifying his active service and his certificates for his promotion to Flying Officer.
According to his RCAF Service and Pay Book, his religious denomination was Protestant – U.C. (United Church of Canada).
Charles lived in Chatham for the majority of his life and actively contributed to the community both in his personal life and through his work at Todgham and Case, the engineering firm he co-founded.
