Private Luke Cartledge went overseas with the 91st. Battalion about the first of July, 1916, training in England until the early part of 1918. At this time, he was operated on and discharged as medically unfit February 21st, 1918. He returned to Canada and re-enlisted May 13th, 1918 with the Inland Waterways and Docks section of the Royal Engineers, going overseas the same month. He was stationed at Camp Stoner, Sanwich, Kent, England.
