Joseph enlisted in February of 1942 in Windsor, Ontario. He completed his basic training at BTC No. 12 in Chatham, as well as at Valcartier, Quebec. During his training, he returned home to visit his parents. Joseph and his with spent a total of two months, starting in August of 1943, at Joseph’s parent’s house TT 19/08/43. He married his wife in Windsor on October 11, 1941. His wide spent two month in Quebec City to be closer to her husband and returned to Tilbury on May 6th, and Joseph returned shortly after.
