The son of Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell Caron of  1151 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, ON. He had a sister named Mrs. William Cook of Point Edward, ON. His brother, Leo, had been overseas for eighteen months, stationed in England. John was reported in the WN 18/03/43(P). He went overseas on the first of March 1943.

Edward was honoured by the church of the Immaculate Conception in Pain Court along with Pte. Romeo Trahan and Pte. Clement Couture. The men received a pen and pencil set. CDN 18/01/45.
