Son of Samuel J. Carder and Jane Ann Carder; husband of Emily E. Carder, of Chatham. Wilfred was a well known barber of Chatham before joining the RCAF.  

Prior to his transfer to the RCAF Wilfred was a Sgt. A450067. Appears on the “Muster Roll” of the 2nd Bn., Kent Regiment (MG), N.P.A.N. (date unknown).

Date of Death: 03/12/1943, Died of natural causes (heart attack) in the Shaughnessy Hospital, Vancouver, B.C.

The CDN 13/12/43 reported that Cpl. W. G. Carder passed away at the Shaughnessy Military Hospital, Vancouver, BC., 3/12/43. “Accompanied by a firing squad from No.12 BTC, Chatham. A military funeral was held for Cpl. Carder with burial at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham, ON.
