Appears on the “Muster Roll” of the 2nd Bn., Kent Regiment (MG), N.P.A.N. (date unknown). SERVICE NUMBER A140278. He would later be transferred to the RCR.

He was discharged from the Canadian Army due to being underage after one month of service. In January of 1943, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard and served until February 1946 in convoy duty, submarine patrol for 13 months and troop ship duty for 18 months. While he was with the US Army, he served in the Atlantic theater, Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean, England, France, Italy, North Africa, India and Germany for complete tour of land and sea duties.

Given Canadian Volunteer Service Medal from Canadian Forces along with complete U.S. decorations for areas of service.

Discharged September, 1942.
