Sergeant Albert E. Campbell was a volunteer in England.
Sergeant Albert E. Campbell went overseas with the 186th. Battalion March 26th, 1917, proceeding to France in August, transferring to the 18th. Battalion. In August he was gassed; in September his chin strap was broken by shrapnel but he escaped uninjured; September 10th, he suffered injuries to his head, returning to the 4th. Reserve Battalion after recovery when he regained his Sergeant`s stripes which he gave up to go to France.
