Sergeant Angus M. Camp served with the Royal Canadian Regiment from May 5th, 1905 to May 5th, 1908.
Sergeant Angus M. Camp enlisted with the 33rd. Battalion as Sergeant January 11th,1915, mobilized in London February 1st,1915, left London for Quebec December 6th,1915 and left Quebec for overseas March 11th,1916. He was drafted to the Fourth Canadian Mounted Rifles June 3rd,1916, with first line duty July 25th,1916, at Ypres, Belgium. He served in the attack on Mokey Farm September 15th, 1916, Regina Trench October 1st, 1916, was transferred to the 8th. Bridge December 1st,1916, returned to his unit April 2nd, 1917, taking part in the attack at Vimy Ridge April 9th, 1917. He received wounds in the left foot July 10th, 1917, returned to duty and took part in the engagement at Hill 70, August 28th, 1917, also at Passchendaele October 26th, 1917, when he was again wounded.
Upon recovery he served in the attack at Amiens, The Battle of Arras August 26th, 1918, and was gassed August 28th, 1918. After hospital treatment he returned to his unit and took part in the engagement at Cambrai October 9th, 1918, at Anzin October 15th, 1918, on mines October 28th, 1918, on Quverant November 5th, 1918, at Mons November 11th, 1918.
He left Mons for England November 17th, 1918, and for Canada on the “Royal George” February 10th, 1919. He was Promoted to Lance Corporal May 4th, 1917, to Corporal November 27th, 1917, and to Sergeant 2December 27th, 1917, after having reverted to go to France.
Sergeant Angus M. Camp received his discharge March 31st, 1919, as medically unfit for further military service.
