Gunner Ted Byers served as Corporal with the 24th. Kent Regiment, and joined the Officer’s Training Corps, Toronto University, in 1914.

Gunner Ted Byers left Canada for overseas with a volunteer draft in June 1915, joining the 23rd. Howitzer Battery as Signaler on Linesman, and proceeding to France in January 1916. In November 1916 he was recommended for a commission but did not receive it until March 1918. He returned to France as Lieutenant with the 58th. Howitzer Battery.

27/09/18 – 14TH BDE. CEF. From 19/18 – 28/03/19 – Proceeded to England. Embarked RSM – Scotian to Liverpool 11/06/1919 to 21/06/19 SOS to Canada 12/06/19. Date of Service 29/06/15 – 18/01/16 to 12/06/18 .
