The son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Burke of Erieau, ON. The CDN 11/06/43 reported that Jack had returned to Edmonton after visiting his parents at Erieau.  It was reported that Jack returned to Hamilton, ON. after Christmas 1942. CDN 29/12/42

In 1943, Jack was still at the RCAF in Toronto as an AC2 when he was given a two week leave. He departed on Sept. 4 to begin his Wireless course at No. 4 Wireless School at Guelph, ON. WN 26/08/43. The CDN 19/10/43 reported that Sgt. Burke was home to spend a few days leave with his parents. The CDN 23/10/43 reported that Jack, his mother and his sister Shirley spent the weekend in Detroit and Windsor. The CDN 30/10/43 reported that he caught the midnight train for the East.  

The WN 27/01/44 reported that LAC Burke was stationed at No. 4, Wireless School in Guelph, ON. where he was training. 

Sgt. Burke married Isabel Marion Grisley of Lachine, PQ. at Lachine the end of February, 1945. The young couple were home for a short visit with his parents before starting their honeymoon to Detroit, Michigan. He was to report to RCAF Moncton, NB. for posting while his new wife resided with her parents at Lachine. WN 1/03/45 (courtesy WDS)
