Regimental number: 6638 Reference: RG 150, Accession 1992-93/166, Box 1279 – 13, Date of Birth 18/09/1881.  Born in Leeds, Yorkshire, England. Listed as his next of kin was a Mrs. William Ruhuke of Chatham, ON. He was one of the 24th Kent men to board the train at Chatham for Valcartier. Listing himself as a machinist and that he had 4 years of service with the Royal Canadian Regt when he enlisted the 19th of September 1914 at Valcartier, age 32 years 6 months. One of the “Originals First arrived after four years service at the front. He was several times wounded an incapacitated returning three different wounds. Before the war he worked on Dover T0wnship and at the Gray-Campell Co.
