Brydges had worked in London as a truck driver.
Robert had been connected and transferred to the staff at the No.12 Basic Training Camp in Chatham. He remained there for two years. It was reported in the CDN 27/01/42 that Robert had arrived safely in England.
Annie had been notified on the 16th of June that her husband was missing in action and she received notification that Robert had in fact been killed In Action on 8 June during the invasion of Normandy on D-Day. CDN 19/06/44.
