The son of W. J. and Florence Brown of 92 Adelaide St. Lyle was living at the Parkview Hotel, Chatham, ON., when he enlisted.
Kent Regiment M.G. N.P.A.M. 1936 to 1937.
Transferred from the Kent Regiment and went overseas.
The CDN 27/02/43 reported that Pte. Brown had arrived home from the west coast on a seven day furlough to visit his mother.
The CDN 13/01/45 reported that Pte. Lyle E. was suffering from an injury to his left foot. A second telegram informed his mother that his wounds “are not believed to be of a serious nature”. Lyle was reported again as being slightly wounded. CDN 30/01/45. At the time he was serving in Italy. Served in Italy for a year. Slightly wounded and hospitalized.
