The son of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Brown of 267 Selkirk St., Chatham, ON. The brother of Marvin of 36 Mercer St., two sisters: Dorothy at home and Mrs. Ross Agar of 125 Delaware Ave. Chatham.
It was reported that Flt. Sgt. Brown was missing in action on his second mission over “occupied Europe”, he had previously been reported as killed in action. [unknown article] 26/10/43 (P). The CDN 25/10/43(P) reported that Flt. Sgt. Brown was reported missing in action overseas.
He was a member of a bomber crew based in England and it was reported, missing by the RCAF casualty officer, it was Clayton second trip over occupied Europe. He had been previously reported KIA.
The CDN 26/10/43(P) reported that Sgt. Clayton Perry Brown AG. Word received by his parents confirming his death on operations. He was born in Chatham 24 years ago, he lived in this district all his life. Prior to his enlistment he farmed with his father on a farm at King’s Corners near Louisville. He was educated at Louisville His parents moved to Chatham when Clayton enlisted.

Nothing was heard of this air craft from the time it became air bourne at 17:25 hrs. on 22nd October, 1943. It had been ordered to attack Kassel but there is no information to show whether it reached the objective or not.
