Born in 1913, the son of George Edward and Myrtle (nee Tiffin) of Huffman’s Corners. The brother of Stewart, Gordon, Earl, Trevor, Shirley (Kennedy), Maurice, Edward, Norman William and Reta (Cook). The husband of Wanda (nee Hodgson).
Served in Canada four and a half months. Was sent overseas and served in England, France, Holland and Germany, Promoted from Private to Corporal. Won 1939 to 1945 Star, Defence Britain, France and Germany Star.
The CDN 2/02/42 Mr. and Mrs. received word that their son Pte. Jack Brooks of the Essex Scottish had arrived overseas. This makes three sons Edward also with the Essex Scottish and Norman Byron Military Police in London, England. The forth son Earl J. of Leamington reports for active duty with the RCAF.
Jack was reported returning to Canada aboard the Queen Elizabeth. CDN 17/11/45(P)
Jack passed away 6 June, 1999 at the age of 86.
