Private George R. Bromley transferred from the 70th. Battalion to the Canadian Army Medical Corps, leaving for England July 4th, 1916. After being stationed at Cheriton Camp a short time, he was transferred to the Duchess of Connaught Red Cross Hospital staff, and later put on transport duty.
In July 1917, he sailed for Canada, and after a short furlough, returned to England on August 16th. He was stationed at Westonhanger, and then at Risboro Barracks Training Depot. He was then transferred to No.11 General Hospital, Shorncliffe, and then returned to Risboro Barracks. He was then attached to the staff of the Granville Canadian Special Hospital in Buxton.
George was married to Ada Matilda and living at Tilbury where he worked as a labourer. Attestation: 20/09/1915 at London, ON. to 70th Bn., transferred to 2nd Field ambulance.
