Private Ephran Edward Broadbent left for overseas with the 186th. Battalion March 26th, 1917. He trained at the Bramshott Camp until September 1917, when he crossed to France to the 18th. Battalion. He served until May 9th, 1918 until he received a gunshot wound on the left side of the face. After hospital treatment at Basingstoke Military Hospital, he was given light duties until the later part of July. After this, he was sent to Epsom for convalescence. He reported at Witley where he was given light duties. He then embarked from Southampton January 11th, 1919, and arrived at Halifax January 17th, 1919. Private Ephran Edward Broadbent received his discharge February 8th, 1919, due to demobilization.
