The son of Mr. J.J. and Helen Brennan of Patterson Ave. in Chatham, ON. LAC Brennan was reported home on a two weeks furlough to spend time with his family and friends. CDN 24/03/42
He served in Canada for two months. It was reported that LAC Brennan had arrived safely in England to begin his service overseas. CDN 23/04/42. He served in Scotland, Gibraltar and North Africa.
In August of 1945, Cpl. Robert A. Brennan married Miss Elizabeth Charlotte L’Heureux at St. Joseph Church in Chatham. He had recently returned from three and a half years of service in the RCAF. His brother, Charles, was his best man and his other brother, Cpl Harold Brennan of the RCAF, acted as an usher. The couple honeymooned in the Muskoka district. At the conclusion of the grooms 30-day leave, he reported for duty and the bride returned to her parents home on Second St., Chatham. CDN 7/08/45
