The son of Mrs. John Brennan of 46 Harvey St., Chatham, ON. It is believed that Edward was born in Chatham. He enlisted in the RCOC in London, ON., 27 September, 1939 as a sheet metal mechanic, to repair machinery. He serve overseas in France with the RCASC.

Edward was eounded in the hip 23 December, 1942. He spent eleven months in hospital before being discharged from the army.

After returning to Canada he work as a linotype operator in the Ledger Press Co. in London, ON. CDN 29/03/45
