Regimental number: 189755 Reference: RG 150, Accession 1992-93/166, Box 1334 – 41,  Item: 79041, PDF: – B1334-SO41.  Date of Birth 09/10/1895 at Chatham, ON. Son of Camille Bushey of Chatham. A single farmer living at Chatham. Vaccination – Yes. No experience with the Military.  Attestation: 3/01/1916 at St. Thomas, ON to the 91st Bn. transferred to 186th Bn.  28/02/16.

Apparent Age:  20 yrs. 2 mths., Height: 5’ 8 ½” , Girth: 36” Complexion: Dark: Eyes: Brown, Hair: Dark Brown. Weight : 130 – 140#. “ Small scar on Left Knee, Considered “Fit” – 31/12/1915 at Chatham, ON. 3/01/16.

He left for overseas March 26th, 1917 training at Bramshott Camp until October 5th, 1917, when he crossed to France.

He served with the 1st. Canadian Battalion until October 26th, 1918, and while on leave to England he was taken ill on November 10th, 1918, was admitted to the Second Scottish General Hospital. Three weeks later he was sent to Espom Convalescent Hospital and two months later to the 4th. Reserve Battalion, Witley. He left England for Canada March 9th, 1918, arriving at Halifax March 18th, 1918.

(3) Pneumonia 16/07/17 – Admitted to Bramshott – Military Hospital – Good recovery, (4) Influenza 10/11/19 – Admitted to 2nd Scotland Gen. Hosp.- Good recovery. – No Disability at present time.

Arrived in England 7/04/17 aboard the S. S. Lapland – 21/08/17. 

5/01/17 – 3/02/17 – Soft Chancer (30 days) – 20/02/17 – 1/03/17  for Tonsillitis (10 days) 16/07/17 – 15/08/17. Family: 91st Bn. CEF – transfer to 186th Bn. Living at Pain Court, Kent Co. Father C. Bushey, of Chatham, ON. No mother present – 27/09/16.  

Embarked from Halifax, 25/03/17 – Disembarked at Liverpool – England. 6/10/17 proceeded overseas 1st S.O.S. – 4TH RES, ARV. to France 5/10/17. 

28/11/18 with Influenza – shortness of breath, irritating sour, Shortness of breath, irritabilitating cough. Heart OK, Chest apparent clear – 31/12/18 – Fit for Discharge. Pneumonia – 2nd Scot. Gen. Hosp: 10/11/18 – Influenza, MCH – Epson 27/11/18 – Jan. 1919. Disability fit for DI. 

Disch.- 19/02/19 SOS to CEF – Can, No. 18.

Private Nelson Bushey received his discharge March 24th, 1918, due to demobilization.
