Regimental number(s): 189602 or 3130849. Reference: RG 150, Accession 1992-93/166, Box 929 – 40, Item: 5578, PDF:- B0929-8040. Date of Birth: 24/02/1890 at Tilbury, ON. Son of Joseph and Edith Bourdeau of R. R. # 4 Merlin, ON. A single farmer living at his father’s farm. Attestation: 9/12/1915 at St. Thomas to 91st Bn., age 25 years, height 5’31/2”, Medical 9/11/1915.

Eddie served with the 186th Batt. at Chatham, (189602) He was reported “Discharged” 2/05/1916 under King Regulations – Orders: paragraph 322(7),1910. at Chatham, ON.2/05/1916? [GOH does not have that document) 

Eddie would be called up under the MSA his number 7113181 AC:(Military Service Act) service No. 3130849. At that time he was living at Ford City in Essex Co., ON.; occupation ‘Door Shaper’ [Likely employed at the Ford Motor Co. – JRH] He had his Medical Exam at Windsor, ON 13/10/17.

He embarked  Canada on 4/02/18 and Disembarked in England 16/02/18. He was processed to the 47th Battalion and processed overseas to France 11/05/18. Pte. Bourdeau would be Transferred to the 5th Canadian Battalion CEF.

He was reported Missing After Action 11/11/1918 the last day of the Great War. He was found and sent to the Canadian Special Hospital at Whitley. After his discharge from hospital he was shipped home departing England 27/04/1919, arriving at Halifax, NS. 31/05/1919 aboard HMT ‘Adriatic’.  

Pte. Bourdeau was TOS(Taken On Strength) at Montreal, PQ. 31/05/1919.
