Trained at Manning Pool, Jarvis, Brantford and graduated at Crumlin. Served at Mountain View as Bombardier instructor  where he was promoted to Flying officer. Went overseas in March 1944, and spent eight months in England.

His wife and sons lived at 261, Grand Avenue East Chatham,ON. CDN 22/07/42 John was reported on leave from RCAF-Mountain View, ON. on a two week furlough. CDN 21/03/44

Discharged November 28th, 1945.
