Served with the 35th Central Alberta Horse. Transferred to the Edmonton Regiment and went overseas in World War 1. Served in France and Belgium.

Joined the A. and T. Staff, M.D.1. Was appointed Training Officer to the 2nd Battalion Kent Regiment.

It was reported in the CDN 5/06/42 that Lieut. Bonnett was transferred from the Corps of Reserve of Officers by Lieut. Col. W. Grant Thomson to the 2nd Kents as a Training Officer.

Discharged June 16th, 1945.
