Unit # Essex Scottish Regiment

Born in 1921 at Comber.   The son of Mr. and Mrs. Isreal Bonneau of St. Clair St. in Tilbury, ON. Brother of Henry of the RCOC.  

Raymond enlisted with the Essex Scottish in Windsor, ON. on 31/03/1942. MGF. He served in Canada, France, Belgium and Holland. He was reported to be returning from overseas duty in the CDN 20/11/45.  Raymond returned from overseas with the Essex Scottish. CDN 5/12/45(P).

Pte. Bonneau was discharged from the army on 9/01/1946.

After the war, he became a welder in Tilbury, ON. Married to Evelyn Florence (nee Abbott) on 4 March, 1947. They had two children; Brenda (Burton) and Donna (Jackson). Raymond was best known as the caretaker of the Tilbury post office.

Raymond passed away in March of 1979 at the age of 57 years. CDN 17/03/79.
