Born in 1923 the son of Lyle and Eva Bishop of 555 Queen St. South, Chatham, ON.

Raymond enlisted in January 1943.  The CDN 13/10/43 reported that then L/Cpl. was attending Queen’s University in Kingston, ON. and was on a week-end leave for Thanksgiving.   In January of 1944, he was reported to be on leave at his parents home before returning to Queen’s University CDN 3/01/44. Raymond was training at Queen’s University in Kingston when he had a weekend pass to visit his parents in April of 1944. CDN 11/04/44. He served as an instructor for three years and eight months in Canada. He was discharged from the army 15/09/46.
