Son of Bethune D. Binga and brother of L/Cpl. Bethune Binga also serving overseas, of Chatham. Trained in Canada.
Went overseas and served in England, Italy, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Was promoted to Lance Corporal and instructed at weapons. Reverted to Private to go with regiment into action.
Jesse was first reported wounded while serving in Italy , a ‘blast traumatic synovitis of the left knee’. (an injury to his left knee a result of an explosion – Curators Note – JRH.) Jesse was reported wound for the second time in the CDN 13/01/45. Reported returned from overseas duty 25 July, 1945. Reported volunteered for the Pacific theatre August, 1945. CDN 14/08/45.
Discharged November 9th, 1945.
