NORMAN was stationed in Halifax, NS. in Mary of 1942 when he was granted leave to visit his mother Mrs. Eli Marchand of Centre St., Chatham, ON. CDN 21/05/42.

The CDN 27/06/44 reported Pte. Besant then at Camp Borden was on furlough with his mother Mrs. E. Marchand of Centre St., Chatham. 

Discharged November 30th 1945.
