Benoit, Raymond J

 

Born in 1921 at Paincourt, Kent Co., ON. Enlisted in October, 1942 with the 30th Reece Regt.  He trained in Canada and served overseas for 2 years, 7 months including eight months with the Army of Occupation in Germany. The CDN 9/09/43(P) reported that Tpr. Benoit informed his mother Mrs. D. Benoit of 58 Sandys St., Chatham that he had a safe arrival overseas.    He served in France, Belgium, Holland, and in the occupation force in Germany for 7 months.  Raymond served for the duration of the war and included eight months with the Army of Occupation in Germany.  He returned from overseas in January of 1946 CDN 3/01/1946 that he returned to Canada aboard the Queen Elizabeth. CDN3/01/46,  and was discharged from the army 9/02/1946.

He married Jeanne, (Poissant) Caza. Ray passed away in 1985.
