The son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Bennett of the Village of Charlemont.

While he was in training, he was granted some time to go home and visit his family.  During his visit to Charlemont, Clifton suffered a badly damaged toe when a stove was dropped on it. He was under medical care for most of his leave. WN 22/05/41 He was training at Halifax at the time of this injury. 

He was stationed at No.1 ‘Y’ Depot, RCAF Lachine, PQ.  The Wallaceburg News 28/08/41, reported that Clifton’s parents hosted a social evening to honour their son who was home from Halifax, NS.
