The son of Mr. and Mrs. William Benedict. The brother of Winfred AC2, who was stationed at Bellevile RCAF Training School.   Both of Whitebread, Kent Co.

The Wallaceburg News reported 14/08/41 that he was home visiting his parents and was to return to RCAF Saskatoon at the end of that week. After completing six months of training at RCAF-Saskatoon, he was home on a one week leave. WN 28/08/41

Elmer was home in June 1942 from Allford Bay, Queen Charlotte Island, BC., where he was stationed. He was home to attend an engagement party for him and Miss Grace Martin, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Martin of Forhan Street, Wallaceburg. CDN 4/04/42.

The WN 27/05/43 reported that Sgt. Winfred and LAC Elmer were home on leave.

The WN 27/05/43 reported that Mrs Elmer Benedict had arrived on the west coast to be stationed at Abbortsford, BC. In September, 1942 Elmer and his wife had been back to Whitebread for another two week leave to visit the family including brother John; then a AC2 at RCAF-Centralia.  The CDN 24/09/43 reported along with the with his wife. They left on Monday for the west coast. 

Elmer was reported at No.3 repair Depot at Jerico Beach, BC in January of 1944.
