The son of Albert Bellinger of Collingwood, ON.  The brother of Edith. The husband of Dorothy (nee Smith). The father of Gerald and Stephen. Prior to his enlistment he managed the Record Credit and Collection Co. in Chatham.   

Trained at Toronto  Camp Borden , I. T. C. Toronto, Crumlin, London and Halifax, Went overseas early in 1943 and served at Bournmouth, Arsty, near Coventry, Staverton and Manchester. Early in 1944 returned to Canada and was stationed at Rockcliffe. Was transferred to Fingal and then to Equipment Depot, Montreal.

The CDN 27/05/43 reported that he had arrived overseas. The cable to his wife Dorothy (nee Smith) of Ridgetown reported he was overseas.  

The CDN 24/09/43 reported along with his wife. They left on Monday for the west coast. 

Elmer was reported at No.3 repair Depot at Jerico Beach, BC in January of 1944.

Discharged November 13th, 1945.

George A. passed away 16 May, 1988 and is buried at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham, ON.
