Son of Joseph and Margaret Bedard of 25 Jeffery St., Chatham, ON. The brother of Edward. The husband of Francis Margaret and the father of Richard Joseph and Michael Patrick.

In May of 1942, Francis was reported on furlough to see his parents. CDN 27/05/42.

Trained in Canada until December 13th 1942. Went overseas and served in the United Kingdom until August 6th 1945. September 28th, 1945.

Francis had a two week leave in late November before departing for an Eastern port for posting overseas. CDN 1/12/42

Reported returning to Canada from overseas after three years duty aboard the troopship “Pastuer”, expected to arrive in Quebec City 11 August, 1945. CDN10/08/45. Returned to Chatham  CDN 13/08/45 / 14/08/45(P)

Francis passed away 9 Sept. 1988. Internment at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Chatham, ON.
