Born in Ridgetown in 1926. The son of Clarence Martin Bedard and Laura Belle Anderson.  The brother of Edward and the husband of Virginia “Ginny” (nee Golubov). The father of Robbi-Joe. Clarence was predeceased by his first wife, Eleanor (nee Hall), as well as their son, James (also known as Jay).

Clarence was employed at British Leaf Tobacco, City Ice Service, Planet Printing and Chatham Coach Lines. He raised his family and farmed in New Scotland and served as mayor of New Scotland before his retirement.

Robert passed away 20 August, 2011.
