Born 14 March, 1920, in Chatham Twsp., Kent Co., ON. The son of Margeritte A. Beaubien of 294 Queen St., Chatham, ON.
Louis enlisted with the Kent in Chatham on 14 August, 1940. He served with the Kents in London, ON., Halifax, NS., New Westminster, and Terrace, BC. He went overseas as a reinforcement to the Essex Scottish, arriving in England in 1943. Saw action in Italy and Holland with the Lenark & Refrew Scottish Regt.
Arriving back in Canada in March of 1945, he was married to Dorthy and was discharged from the army on 29 November, 1945. Louis and Dorothy had four children. “Louis was a people person and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He enjoyed fishing, cards and life in general. He was a all round good and wonderful man.” (Dorothy Jackson wife). Louis and Dorothy were married in New Westminster.
After his service, he resided at 4 Jackson Dr., Chatham, ON with his wife. Louis passed away in January 1983.
