He was drafted three times for France but owing to medical defects was kept in England, serving as batman. Transferring to Witley Camp April 22nd, 1918, leaving there for Canada December 7th, 1918, and arrived at Chatham December 17th, 1918.
Discharged at London January 11th, 1919 owing to demobilization.
