Private William James Batchelor embarked from Halifax March 26th, 1917; was transferred to the 8th. Canadian Infantry Reserve, England, in April 1917, and proceeded to France in July 1917 to the 58th. Canadian Battalion.

At Passchendale, October 26th, 1917, he received wounds, and after hospital treatment, embarked from Liverpool December 5th, 1918, arriving at St. John December 16th, 1918.

Private William James Batchelor received his discharged January 9th, 1919, due to demobilization.
