CDN 8/02/44 reported that Sglmn. Barrett had spent a weekend leave with his mother on Gray St., Chatham, ON. before returning to HMCS Hunter in Windsor.

The CDN 25/04/44 reported that his sister Miss Jean Barrett had organized a party of friends before he left for the east coast. He received a pen and pencil set “and many other gifts presented to their honoured guest. 

The CDN 25/04/44 reported that O/S Barrett departed for the east coast after spending his furlough with his family.
