Pte. Barratt went overseas with the 91st battalion in June 1916 and after a short training in England proceeded to France and was drafted to “A” Company, 21st Battalion.
He was killed in action July 11, 1917 by a German bomb exploding in the dugout which he and twelve others were occupying.
