In June of 1942 Walter was stationed at RCAF – Trenton when he was given a week’s leave to visit his home at 41 Lorne Ave., Chatham, CDN 26/06/42
Private Walter G. Ball trained with the Machine Gun Section of the 186th. Battalion going overseas March 28th, 1917. He proceeded to France in September, 1917, attached to the 18th. Battalion. He suffered from shrapnel wound in the right thigh at Passchendaele, November 11th, 1917, and received Hospital treatment in France and England for two months, returning to Bramshott, and later to Witley Camp as Instructor.
