Private Francis H. Ball trained with the 186th. Battalion, being promoted to L/Corporal. He left with this unit for England the latter part of March, 1917, and after training at Bramshott, left for France august 26th, 1917, transferring to the 18th. Battalion. Private Ball was admitted to Hospital about November 15th, suffering from trench fever, but two weeks later returned to the trenches.
