Regimental number: 2458323. Reference: RG 150, Accession 1992-93/166, Box 332 – 25, Box: 322-25, Item: 19048, PDF: BO332-SO25. . Date of Birth: 07/05/1898 at Chatham Twsp., Kent Co., ON. Son of Walter Badder of R. R. # 1 Eberts, Kent Co., ON. A single farmer living in Eberts. Attestation: 24/06/1917 at Chatham, ON. to 25th Bn.

A farmer by calling. Single at enlistment.  Age:19 Years 1 month, Height: 5’ 5”, Complexion: Fair, Eyes: Blue, Hair: Light Brown. Officer commanding F. G. Stanbury, Lt. Col. 25th service Batt. Transferred to 4th Canadian Reserve. Batt. 1st Draft to WOR @ Chatham 24/06/1917 at Chatham, ON. He trained in Canada at the Central Training Depot with the 25th Regt 

‘Albin’ (should be Alvin) served in France with the 47th Batt 

Arrived in England 31/12/17 embarked at St. John aboard S,S, Misoamalic 21/12/17 for England, arriving at Glagow, Scotland 31/12/17. TOS at Bramshot 31/12/17. He was then TOS to France 11/05/18 in the Field 23/05/18 

 It was reported 5/08/18 that he was “Placed under stoppage of Pay to 30/07/18 re: three shillings, ten pence cost of Government property on 30/07/18 for W.O.A.S losing by neglect 1 pair of Putties by neglect one pair of Putties”.   

Pte. Badder was reported WIA as a result of a GSW to his right knee received 27/09/18 while serving in France with the 47th.  He was taken to #18 General Hospital 28/09/18. Transferred to The Lord derby War Hospital at Warrington. As a result of his injury he for a time could not move his foot. He was transferred to the Military Convalescence hospital at Wood Cote 21/11/18 wound healed, with no disability.  He was discharged 29/11/18 with no disability.     

It was discovered in the “Assigned Pay / Seperation Allowence was set aside to Mrs. Eliz. Badder (nee TOOD) of 32 Victor St., Monkwearmouth, Sunderland, Durham, the sum of $30.00 and she received this sum into 15 /03/1919. (Unable to determine when he was married) 

Pte Albin Badder, 2458323 was discharged 21/05/1919 “Demobilization” at the age of 20 years. He was confirmed WIA 27/09/18 due to a GSW to his right knee at Windsor, ON. 7/12/27 (reason unknown) and his “Military Will” was returned to him “the same being your own property”.  

A Dept. of Veteran Affairs -812 dated 22/11/66 “statement of service sights an Honourable Discharge 23/11/1966
