Son of Mrs. ‘Maggie’ Lambert Labadie, (PO Box: 31, Stoney Point, ON.   (formally Mrs. Joseph Bacon) of Tilbury. Born in Tilbury, next-of – kin: mother. Willing to be vaccinated. No previous Military service.   

Age: 18 yrs. Height: 5’ 3”, Girth: 33”, Complexion: Dark, Eyes: Brown, Hair: Black. Weight: 141 #.  

A single farmer living in Tilbury. Attestation: 9/12/1915 at St. Thomas, ON to the 91st Bn. transferring to the 186th Bn. Medical “Fit” – 9/12/1915 at Tilbury, ON. 9/11/15

27/11/16 – 2/12/16 he was ill with Influenza, before he want overseas 

Went overseas with the 186th Bn. embarked 28/03/17 aboard the S. S. Lapland, Nominal Roll. Reported seriously wounded in the CDP 16/04/18 and TT 18/04/18.

Wounded 8/01/18 spent 6 months at English Hospital and 2 months in a Canadian Hospital. “ Discharged on account of being medicaly unfit. GSW – Right Hand – Servere 

Embarked in Canada at Halifax 25/03/17 arrived in England 7/04/17 aboard the S.S.Lapland to 4th Res.

27/08/17 TOS to 18th Batt at Estaples 8/09/17. Reported WIA with the 18th Batt.   

Went to France 15/08/17. On duty as a ‘Company Runner’ between HQ and the front lines. He received a shrapnel to the right forearm. Taken to Cdn. Field Ambulance – to No. 8 CCS – Dressing, 6/04/18. From there to No. 7 Can. Gen. Hospital – Staples. He was operated  – No shrapnel wasextracted 8/04/18. Transferred to Bristol Gen. Hosp. a X-Ray showed a small fragment on the inner side radius, 18/06/18. Transferred to Bearwood 24/06/18. It was noted that his Arm & Hand had absoluted cured. He continued coplaint of a “ Stiff forearm.   

Certicate of Officer: “ MEDICALLY UNFIT”.Discharge Certificate :- 91st Bn. St. Thomas, ON. 9/12/15. Having been found medically unfit for service.” Date of Discharge: – 18/12/1918 – Signed at Toronto, ON. – Address on Discharge: Stoney Point, ON. 

Served in England and France, Length of Service: 3 yrs / 9 days. The 91st 7 mths. in Canada, with the 4th Res. In England 4 months. To France with the 18th Batt, 9 mos when he was wounded and in hospital till discharge.  

It was not the last of his issues. A Contusion of the head:  24/05/19 he was in a car and was passing through a bridge and stuck his head and left hand struck the bridge. 31/05/1919 wounds healed – no infection. 1/06/19 Stitches were removed no infection noted 2/06/19  

“Having Medically unfit for service.“ Port an date of arrival – at Halifax aboard the S.S. Khyer.  

Post Discharge Pay :- In one payment of $64.50 from Chief Paymaster – Toronto, ON. He was not serving in the CEF.

Invalided to Canada 24/09/18 His last noted residence was Windsor, ON. County of Essex 19/02/1919. Date of Discharge 18/12/1918
